Marcus Bone

"Quirky, funny, different, and keeps you wanting more"

Andrew Ryan, Q Radio

You know you can tell if someone has made a really good sandwich pretty easily, and I’ll come back to that later...

Some books of fiction do a single thing: the hard-boiled detective solving the crime, the woman slowly shedding untruths and revealing her past. But there are ‘layered’ books, ones that go beyond scene setting and plot, that aspire to even greater things than Fifty Shades of Grey or Das Kapital.

Evil Goods ticks of a few boxes here: to entertain, to intrigue and to hold a mirror to the world. The idea to demonstrate the idiosyncrasies of the modern world by contrasting them with another go back, at least to Gilliver’s Travels, and to use humour to do it.

So it really is all about the filling, not the bread on either side. Does this book/sandwich taste good? Read and see.
